| Supporters of Health Care Reform make strong showing at Congressman Adam Schiff Town Hall Meeting |
The Democratic Action Center helped get out support to our closest Town Hall Meeting yet. Working with the new MoveOn chapter in Schiff's area, and Organizing For America members, the DAC offered resources, helped alert Democratic Party members, and contacted local Democrats in Schiff's 29th District. We were alerted that Republicans and Big Insurance Companies were targeting this Town Hall Meeting, and we hoped to have hundreds attend. The day before the event there were over a thousand RSVP's and that number continued to grow. There were as many as three thousand people who attended the event, and estimates measure our side in the majority. Although there were loud tea-baggers in the hundreds, we more than held our own and Congressman schiff deserves high marks for conducting his town hall with calm and dignity. |
